first ever blog
I am thinking that I would like to keep a journal of things that we get up to in the McWhirter household and have been meaning to do so for some time. A close friend Rob inspired me to do so as he keeps a paper journal which he has found enjoyable and useful in his family life. It may prove an interesting exercise and hopefully one which I can maintain over a long period of time. I am hopeless when it comes to pen and paper so I am hoping the technology that the internet provides will help me in my quest to keep track of our lives.
This weekend we are planning a trip to Dunn’s swamp with friends from playgroup two weekends ago we had a great camping trip to the Turon river south of Hill End with four other families from playgroup and their dogs. We cooked a camp oven roast and had drinks etc. We found some old disused mine shafts and a mine tunnel which went back into the hill following a quartz line. Jase identified some microbats living in the tunnel huddled together.
As the weather is nice and warm we should have some opportunity for swimming and fishing at the swamp with some bushwalking and relaxing thrown in.
Last weekend we went to the mudgee show where the playgroup entered some artwork. We won second prize for Thursday groups art and a special prize for the Monday groups art. Aiden managed to get lost in a hurry in the crowd as he was busy running away regularly. He ended up with the monkey strap on his back which kept him securely at our side.
Jase is busy with the investment strategy planning at work. They have a presentation to give to the board and managers from Sydney on Monday which is causing some stress for the people he works with. He seems calm about it at the moment.
Sam is going along well. He is laughing and squealing and rolling around. Since eating sand a couple of days ago he has decided to give solid food a better go and is now eating roughly 3 meals a day now with some rusks occasionally. Ordered some shoes for Sam (first shoes) this week. Aiden is practicing riding his bike on the footpath and met two friendly boys (8 yr old twins) who live a few doors down the street named Issac and Harley. He was impressed with their bike riding skills. Jase is taking Aiden riding again today.
